Rehab Hospital of the Pacific

The hospital that was the nexus of several storylines in the flash-sideways in Season 6 was the Nuuanu location of the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (226 North Kuakini Street). Jack and Juliet worked there, and patients included Claire, Locke, Sun, and Sayid’s brother. Visitors included Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Nadia, Helen, and David. The location was also used to portray the care home where Anthony Cooper lived (“The Candidate, Ep. 6×14). Continue reading Rehab Hospital of the Pacific

Sacred Hearts Academy

One of the final scenes of “LOST,” in which most of the characters came together in the flash-sideways before “moving on” (Ep. 6×17, “The End”), was filmed inside the St. Margaret Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Academy (3253 Waialae Avenue) in Kaimuki. It was the same church where the “Lamp Post” station was hidden (Ep. 5×05, “This Place Is Death,” and Ep. 5×06, “316”). The grounds of Sacred Hearts Academy were used for several exterior shots in the same episodes. Continue reading Sacred Hearts Academy

Waipahu High School

The high school where Locke worked as a substitute teacher and met Ben off-island (“The Substitute,” Ep. 6×04) is Waipahu High School (94-1211 Farrington Highway). We later learn that Dr. Arzt is a science teacher and Alex is a student at the same school (“Dr. Linus,” Ep. 6×07). They used the outdoor halls, gym, a classroom and teachers’ lounge. Continue reading Waipahu High School

Honolulu International Airport

The bustling arrivals and baggage claim area of Los Angeles International Airport was filmed at the Honolulu International Airport, in and around Baggage Claim F (lower level, east end). This includes the small office where Jack and Locke meet, the tunnel and skylight Kate sees as she flees the building, and the pickup area where Kate jumps into Claire’s taxi cab. Note that the customs station where Jin and Sun are stopped is a different location. Continue reading Honolulu International Airport

Waikiki Landmark

The building from which Locke fell eight stories after being pushed through a window by his father (“The Man from Tallahassee,” Ep. 3×13), an event that was later revisited by Jacob (“The Incident,” Ep. 5×16), was the Waikiki Landmark condominium (1888 Kalakaua Ave.), near the Hawaii Convention Center. Continue reading Waikiki Landmark

Makua Beach

The second to the last stretch of sand before Kaena Point, near the end of Farrington Highway on the westernmost edge of O‘ahu, Makua Beach is among the most remote locations used by “LOST.” It’s where the base of Jacob’s statue was built (“The Incident,” Ep. 5×16, “LA X,” Ep. 6×01). The rocky outcrop is known as Pōhaku Kula‘ila‘i, a sacred spot in Hawaiian lore, and also as “Pray for Sex” rock. Continue reading Makua Beach
