LOST Locations

One of the final scenes of “LOST,” in which most of the characters came together in the flash-sideways before “moving on” (Ep. 6×17, “The End”), was filmed inside the St. Margaret Mary Chapel at Sacred Hearts Academy (3253 Waialae Avenue) in Kaimuki. It was the same church where the “Lamp Post” station was hidden (Ep. 5×05, “This Place Is Death,” and Ep. 5×06, “316″). Jack’s wedding to Sarah (“Do No Harm,” Ep. 1×20) was held at the Kahala Hotel & Resort, formerly the Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel (5000 Kahala Ave.). The show used the resort’s picturesque and popular beachfront gazeebo, a hotel ballroom overlooking a waterfall, and the hotel pool. (continue reading…)

The waterfront bar where Ana Lucia and Dr. Shepherd parted company in Sydney (“Two for the Road,” Ep. 2×20), briefly bumping into Sawyer, was Fisherman’s Wharf at the end of Ward Ave. (1009 Ala Moana Blvd.). The locations crew put up a sign with reversed letters and a backwards stop sign, then flipped the film in order to create the illusion of right-hand drive cars. (continue reading…)
