The bustling arrivals and baggage claim area of Los Angeles International Airport was filmed at the Honolulu International Airport, in and around Baggage Claim F (lower level, east end). This includes the small office where Jack and Locke meet, the tunnel and skylight Kate sees as she flees the building, and the pickup area where Kate jumps into Claire’s taxi cab. The “Hydra” station, and much of the facility used by “Others” early in the third season (“A Tale of Two Cities,” Ep. 3×01) is the former Paradise Park (and its four-story aviary), located deep in Manoa Valley. The museum’s “Great Lawn” was where Eloise was staging the “fusion” concert when Desmond visited her in the flash-sideways (“Happily Ever After,” Ep. 6×11, “The End,” Ep. 6×17). The backstage area where Claire gave birth to Aaron was the Long Gallery inside historic Hawaiian Hall. The side of the Hawaiian Hall has also appeared as the London waterfront (“Flashes Before Your Eyes,” Ep. 3×08) and as a snowy street in Russia (“He’s Our You,” Ep. 5×10). (continue reading…)
